This picture of Multnomah Falls was taken in October, 2008, one of my earlier spherical photos. For whatever reason, it was never published. However, a recent World Wide Panorama project was to post pictures from people’s archives, particularly ones never used before, and also that represented places no longer available. The name for that theme was “Once Upon A Time”. This photo had never been used, and while the Falls are still there, access to these areas is currently limited due to the Eagle Creek fire that swept through the Columbia River Gorge in 2017. So, this seemed like an appropriate choice.

I took several pictures during this visit, but none were ever posted. One was at the entrance, and one was at the lower viewing area. This one, from a middle position, is a spot not often visited.

Photography Notes

Don’t remember much about taking this picture other than that some new panorama gear was being used. Pretty much the same gear I use today: Nodal Ninja 5 mount and a Nikon D300 with 10.5mm fisheye lens.

This my first post using a new viewing technology. Let me know how it works for you.
