Lower Butte Creek Falls

Lower Butte Creek Falls
This is Lower Butte Creek Falls, my 2015 “Best of” entry for the World Wide Panorama project.

Lower Butte Creek Falls is the larger of the two waterfalls on Butte Creek. This one is harder to explore around because of the terrain. The path runs on top a finger that juts out, but is difficult to climb down from. Apparently it’s possible, at least in dry weather, but not something I am interested in trying.

This picture was taken the same day as my other entry, used for the “Peace” theme.

As a waterfall picture, it’s not very inspiring. But it was a fun picture to make because of the location. The shear drop off either side made selection of vantage point challenging, but this worked out ok.

Photography Notes

This picture was made from a single set of exposures. I did bracket when making the shot, but didn’t use more than one exposure. The trickiest part was taking a downward shot to fill in the nadir. Aligning everything took some time, as did stitching the resulting pictures.
